I don’t often read nonfiction but when I do they often end up being some of my favorite books of the year and The Year of Yes by Shonda Rimes is no exception. It is my current favorite book I’ve read this year and my 1st 5 star read of the year. Don’t know if I just read it at the right time but I am completely hooked.

I really don’t know what took me so long to find this book, I enjoy Thursday night tv from Shondaland but hadn’t picked this up before this week. Best of all I listened to this on audio so I got to hear it in Shonda’s own voice! Bonus! Shonda talks about happiness, stepping outside of her comfort zone and saying yes to things that make you uncomfortable. I didn’t want to stop driving because I wanted to hear more. It has me thinking about my life & saying Yes. There is something comforting about hearing that a successful woman like Shonda Rimes struggles with some of the same things I do.

This should be required reading for high & college Seniors & anyone that is questioning their life! Read it or better yet listen to it!
