There are so many different types of barbecue and I am always looking for a new version to add to my dinner rotation. Slow Cooker Birch Beer B Cue comes together quickly and has the right balance of sweetness.
When I lived in Pennsylvania my daughter’s favorite soda treat was a birch beer, similar to root beer but inexplicably different. Since we’ve moved I stock up on it when we are visiting family. I’ve seen lots of recipes that add different types of soda so when I was trying to decide on ingredients I decided to add a can of Birch Beer, don’t worry if you don’t have Birch Beer you can substitute root beer. The flavor was slightly sweet and slightly tangy and completely delicious.
In the morning before you leave for work add half a chopped onion, a pork roast, ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, and Birch Beer to a slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. When you come home shred the pork with 2 forks and serve on a bun.
