Looking for a perfect dip for game day or a holiday party? This Jalapeno Popper Dip is it!! Cheesy with a little heat and just a little healthier than your average dip.
This Fall we have been swimming in a sea of jalapenos!! A friend decided he had everything he wanted out of his garden and told Tom to “pick whatever he wanted”. He had a LONG row of jalapenos and Tom brought home bags of them!! This is my pepper drawer!!
After freezing bags of them I had to figure out what else to do with them. We had poppers for a while but I wanted something different and eventually came up with this dip.
Oozing with melted cheese and some heat from the jalapeños it is delicious!! It is more reminiscent in texture to a Buffalo Chicken dip then a Queso dip. Choose the amount of heat you want by the amount of jalapeños and seeds you put in. If you are making it for a small group cut it in half, it’s what I do when it’s only 3 or 4 of us. It’s even slightly healthy with low fat plain yogurt in the mix. The slightly crispy edges are delicious and we scrap this pan clean!!
Have you tried Yummly yet? I just joined and I’m really liking it!! It’s a recipe site and a lot of fun!! The Yum button at the bottom of each of my posts allows you with a click to save the recipe to your own Recipe Box. Here’s Sweet Mornings page. Give it a try, think you will like it!
